The Bookleaf Society

Why "Bookleaf"?

Bookleaf Mallee (Eucalyptus kruseana) is a native Australian shrub, with silvery blue-green foliage. This plant encompasses our love for books and the natural world.

As a society, we convene for a particular purpose: to investigate the depths of our minds and the limits of language - exploring the relationship between people, plants, and the written word.

Who we are.

We are a mix of artists, curators, and dreamers who share one thing in common: an everlasting love for books, plants, and engaging conversation within New York City.

The Bookleaf Society is an intentional space to safely and openly discuss literature and connect it back to our soul's work.

What we do.

Every month, we gather for our bookclub soirΓ©e to discuss the chosen readings and deep dive into a specific topic - from spiritual ecology to psychadelics, psychology to fantastical worlds.

Incorporating fresh flora, organic foods, and herbal-infused rituals, we gather to slow down and engage with community via stimulating conversation and intellectual exploration.

The magic lies in the weaving of our own stories as our lives intertwine amongst the narratives we read and discuss. We celebrate the seasons and design rituals as a form of intentional introspection and empathetic reflection. We speak in turn, share insights, ask questions, journal, cry, and laugh. We explore the untamed shadows of our city lives.

It has been beautiful to witness how organic this community has blossomed. By word of mouth, the society is an open invitation to anyone who feels compelled to join a diverse group of women over wine, golden milk, and homemade dessert.

Every session we leave with warmed hearts filled with gratitude for this special circle.
